"Chinatown After Midnight" was the final assignment for my Photo I Class by Preston Wadley at Cornish College of the Arts. It is a study of the interactions and between place and time - a documentation of the people occupying the neighborhood after midnight. Busy by day and desolate by night, the dynamics of what we know about the neighborhood begin to change. I am interested in displaying the neighborhood as a place one may not recognize - unfamiliarizing the aesthetics. What kind of transformations begin to occur when a primarily ethnic business district closes its doors for the night?
All photographs are 35mm Kodak Tri-X 400 Film.
